Product and Sustaining Engineer

About the role

Dematic is looking for a skilled Product and Sustaining Engineer to join its Product Development group in the Technology Center. The role focuses on designing, validating, and sustaining mechatronic equipment for industries such as food & beverage, apparel, and e‑commerce.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and development of mechatronic products, handling both mechanical and electrical components.
• Create and modify 3D models and drawings in Siemens NX for machined, sheet‑metal, plastic, and extruded parts.
• Own the design process from requirements through testing, validation, and product release, including engineering change documentation.
• Support cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, quality, procurement, operations, sales, installation) and participate in design reviews and product improvement initiatives.
• Conduct on‑site product validation, testing, and reporting, applying standards such as UL, CE, and AWS.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical design and development of industrial machinery.
• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering; professional engineering license required.
• Proactive, meticulous, and able to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong interpersonal skills.

• Product Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., Teamcenter)
• Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tools
• Knowledge of UL, CE, and AWS standards
