Project Industrial Engineer

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Project Industrial Engineer in Chihuahua. The role plans, designs, implements and manages integrated production and service delivery systems so that performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control are assured at the production site. It focuses on cross-functional projects, plant-wide initiatives or work across different Jabil sites, with the same responsibilities as the Senior Industrial Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage cross-functional teams from multiple sites to develop, test and implement manufacturing equipment, systems, tools, procedures and processes.
• Ensure current and future processes and manufacturing systems meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
• Review and promote improvements in customer metrics and act as liaison between Operations and Business Unit across Jabil sites for program transfers, including transfer plans, timelines, data, technology, process and knowledge transfer.
• Support new facility and workcell startups, mentor site Industrial Engineering staff and lead standardization of systems, procedures and practices across workcells.
• Design optimized human interfaces for SMT and backend/DF: raw material delivery, storage and line feed, product flow and material handling, WIP management, ergonomic workstation design, workcell and plant layout, 5S, assembly processes, time study analysis, yield improvement programs, box build quotes and systems support (SAP, MES, IEDB).
• Act as subject matter expert or support other IEs in areas such as work measurement, systems and metrics, ergonomics, capacity sizing, PFMEA/DFA, fixtures and tools, simulation, quoting and warehousing.

Required profile

• Understanding and application of a broad range of industrial engineering tools (work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, operations research).
• Understanding of Jabil's global strategy and of the site's facilities and capabilities.
• Strong financial and analytical ability and proven track record of change management, continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft Office products.
• Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
