Purchasing Team Lead

About the role

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Purchasing Team Lead to drive operational procurement for direct materials across its manufacturing plants. The role focuses on ensuring timely product deliveries, improving cost effectiveness, and supporting strategic sourcing initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure product deliveries meet requirements and continuously improve delivery performance.
• Lead an operational rhythm to mitigate purchasing issues and drive process improvement.
• Monitor supplier KPIs such as On‑Time Delivery, Weighted Lead Time, and Past Dues.
• Conduct Supplier Performance Improvement Reviews for high‑risk suppliers.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, and Quality to meet schedules and project goals.
• Identify and drive cost‑improvement initiatives using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data and standardize processes to eliminate variation.
• Automate ordering through tools like EDI and Supplier Network Collaboration.
• Coach and train procurement staff, handling complex procurement requests.
• Support Strategic Sourcing in strategy execution and supplier communication.

Required profile

• Proven experience in operational procurement or purchasing management.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Familiarity with company policies, compliance standards, and government regulations.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
