Real Estate Accountant – Full-cycle Accounting Contractor

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented, proactive accountant to join our remote team. You will support multiple high‑growth clients, primarily in the real‑estate sector, delivering accurate financial reporting and accounting services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle accounting for several clients, including accounts payable/receivable, bank and credit‑card reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Prepare, review and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulations, addressing discrepancies promptly.
• Perform job costing, project accounting and budget‑to‑actual analysis as needed.
• Support tax compliance by preparing documentation, coordinating with external tax advisors and assisting with audit requests.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and internal teams, offering insights to improve financial operations.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, with proven real‑estate industry exposure.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and U.S. GAAP.
• Fluent English (B2+), comfortable communicating with high‑profile clients.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday, working as an independent contractor.
