Remote Controller – US Time Zones

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Controller to manage the day‑to‑day financial operations of a nonprofit organization. The role is fully remote, working on US time zones, and supports both financial reporting and strategic oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and payroll oversight.
• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements, budget‑to‑actual reports and analyses for leadership and Board review.
• Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships and enforce strong internal controls and compliance procedures.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors, accountants and regulatory agencies.
• Support financial planning, process improvements and documentation of accounting policies.
• Assist the client with additional tasks aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting, finance or controllership experience.
• Experience in nonprofit, healthcare or behavioral health environments preferred.
• Ability to work US graveyard shifts from the Philippines or Latin America and start within two weeks.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting systems; NetSuite experience is a strong plus.
• Comfort with time‑tracking tools (e.g., Time Doctor) and reliable remote‑work setup.
