Remote Legal Assistant (Paralegal) – Mexico

About the role

WorkBetterNow is seeking a Remote Legal Assistant to support its attorneys and legal teams. You will help drive efficient legal operations, ensure compliance, and contribute directly to case success while working from Mexico.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and format contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, affidavits, and correspondence under attorney supervision.
• Conduct legal research using online databases, summarize findings, and prepare reports for attorneys.
• Organize and maintain digital case files, keeping documentation accurate and properly categorized.
• Monitor legal deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure timely submissions.
• Prepare and file legal documents with courts, government agencies, or regulatory bodies.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and external stakeholders regarding case status.
• Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, witness lists, and case summaries.
• Review contracts and legal documents for completeness, consistency, and compliance.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all legal, client, and company information.
• Support attorneys with administrative coordination, scheduling, and case tracking.

Required profile

• 2+ years of proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office.
• Experience using legal management software.
• Legal research and legal writing capabilities.
