Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to manage the reconciliation of the general ledger, analyze variances, and support month‑end and year‑end close processes. The role works closely with the accounting manager and serves internal and external stakeholders across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reconciliations of asset and liability balances and ensure General Ledger accounts match supporting documentation.
• Coordinate period, quarter, and year‑end close, and prepare financial statements for analysis and review.
• Supervise journal entries for month‑close (MX GAAP) and period‑close (US GAAP), and analyze variances to maintain statement integrity.
• Create and implement accounting procedures and internal controls to guarantee accurate, timely transaction recording.
• Validate information for annual statutory financial reports and support external audits under US and Mexican GAAP.
• Assist stores and other departments with income and balance transaction queries.
• Support special projects, ad‑hoc analysis, and intercompany invoicing, settlement, and cash‑flow reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or equivalent).
• Three to five years of general accounting experience, preferably in shared‑service centers or the retail industry.

Required skills

• Knowledge of MX GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS.
• Proficiency with General Ledger systems.
• Experience preparing financial statements and statutory reports.
• Ability to perform intercompany invoicing and reconciliation.
