Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Smartly is looking for an ambitious Senior Backend Engineer to join its 250‑plus product and engineering team. You will help build the scalable, reliable infrastructure that powers creative automation for large global brands, including AI‑driven workflows that generate and optimize ad creatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end design, development, and monitoring of data‑intensive microservice platforms.
• Build robust APIs and data pipelines that support high‑volume, complex workflows.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver customer‑focused features.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessions.
• Coach and mentor teammates on best practices and industry standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in backend development with modern technologies.
• Strong motivation to solve customer problems quickly and deliver value.
• Excellent collaboration skills and willingness to mentor others.
• Ability to work on‑site in Mexico City three days per week.
