Senior Compliance & Corporate Legal Manager

About the role

British American Tobacco México is seeking a Senior Compliance & Corporate Legal Manager to lead a comprehensive compliance programme across Mexico, Central America, Colombia, Venezuela and the Caribbean. This high‑visibility position will influence senior stakeholders, strengthen the integrity culture and support responsible business growth in a dynamic region.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain a compliance programme aligned with BAT’s Standards of Business Conduct across multiple markets.
• Manage third‑party due diligence and ensure compliance with sanctions, competition, data‑privacy and supply‑chain regulations.
• Oversee contract lifecycle management in line with Group guidelines.
• Advise on corporate governance matters, including delegation of authority and powers of attorney.
• Review allegations of conduct violations and coordinate remediation measures.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer (J.D., LLB or equivalent); Master’s degree is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in a law firm or multinational corporation.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Finance, HR, IDT and regional/global functions.
• Strong communication skills for delivering compliance awareness to non‑technical audiences.
• Fluency in English; Spanish fluency is a strong advantage.

Required skills

• Experience in sanctions law, competition law and third‑party due‑diligence processes.
