Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer – Distribution Transformers

About the role

As a Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer you will lead the mechanical design and development of dry distribution transformers. Based in Guanajuato, you will ensure product continuity, drive innovation, and deliver high‑quality transformer components that meet both technical and business requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for distribution transformers using CAD tools such as AutoCAD.
• Lead new product development from concept definition through prototyping, validation and release.
• Create and maintain technical drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials for new and existing products.
• Perform material selection, thermal analysis, manufacturability studies and structural integrity assessments.
• Run simulations and engineering analyses to validate designs before prototyping and testing.
• Troubleshoot mechanical design issues identified during testing, validation or production, collaborating with Quality and Manufacturing teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or R&D, preferably with electromechanical systems or industrial equipment.
• Strong knowledge of the engineering design process and new product development.
• Professional proficiency in English.

• Technical documentation (drawings, specifications, BOMs).
