Senior Sales Manager

About the role

The Senior Sales Manager will lead group, leisure, wedding and social event sales for Thompson Zihuatanejo, a luxury beachfront resort. Based in Mexico City, the role serves as the primary sales representative for key domestic markets, driving new business and expanding existing partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and secure group business across corporate, incentive, association, social and creative segments.
• Develop wedding and social event revenue by cultivating relationships with planners, event professionals and luxury agencies.
• Manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and site inspections to contract negotiation and hand‑over to operations.
• Respond to RFPs via Cvent, Hyatt channels and other platforms with strategic proposals.
• Conduct property presentations, virtual meetings and site tours showcasing the resort’s unique experience.
• Collaborate with Revenue Management, Events and Operations to ensure seamless guest experiences.
• Build and maintain relationships with luxury travel advisors, consortia partners (Virtuoso, Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts, etc.), wholesalers and tour operators.
• Drive leisure demand during low and shoulder seasons through targeted promotions and partnerships.
• Represent the resort at trade shows, luxury travel events, sales missions and networking functions.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts throughout Mexico and other strategic domestic markets.

Required profile

• Proven experience in group and leisure sales within a luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong network with wedding planners, travel advisors, consortia partners and event professionals.
• Ability to manage the complete sales process from prospecting to contract execution.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for both in‑person and virtual engagements.
• Collaborative mindset to work closely with revenue, events and operations teams.
