Senior Software Engineer – Platform Squad

About the role

Fountain is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a compact, high‑impact platform squad. You will build and own the core systems that power the company’s workforce‑management ecosystem, serving millions of frontline workers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship platform capabilities used across all customer‑facing and internal products.
• Own performance, security, and stability of high‑traffic production services.
• Enhance agentic systems, including coding agents and observability tooling.
• Lead architectural decisions for both human‑focused and agentic interfaces.
• Write reliable code, APIs, and contracts that serve both users and automated agents.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver measurable customer impact.
• Identify problems, ship fixes, and own outcomes in an autonomous, early‑stage product environment.

Required profile

• At least five years of professional backend engineering experience with production‑ready systems.
• Deep expertise in systems design and the ability to articulate architectural trade‑offs.
• Proven track record of improving misaligned or under‑performing systems.
• Experience building or integrating LLM‑based or agentic components into critical paths.
• Self‑starter who ships valuable features without explicit requests and thrives in ambiguous settings.
