Software Engineer – Cloud & Data Platform

About the role

Join NielsenIQ’s Label Insight team as a Software Engineer, building cloud‑native platforms that digitize, enhance, and distribute consumer data. You will work with a talented group of technologists to deliver high‑performance, low‑latency solutions for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with cross‑functional teams and product managers during stand‑ups to plan sprints and remove blockers.
• Write clean, test‑driven Java, Kotlin, Python, or JavaScript (React) code to extend platform functionality.
• Design and implement event‑driven microservices using serverless technologies and RESTful Spring Boot APIs.
• Develop infrastructure‑as‑code using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, and Kinesis Firehose.
• Model complex product data across MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Elasticsearch.
• Document architecture decisions and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
• Participate in knowledge‑sharing sessions like Lunch‑and‑Learn or engineering workshops.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in object‑oriented programming, especially Java or Kotlin.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
