Sr Associate Statistical & Mathematical Modelling

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Statistical Programming team in Mexico City. The role focuses on statistical and mathematical modelling, delivering high‑quality programming deliverables for eye‑care studies and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review programming dataset specifications for studies and projects.
• Lead kickoff meetings, define deliverables, timelines, and conventions.
• Create primary SAS programs to generate tables, figures, and listings (TFLs) according to specifications.
• Validate deliverables, build study‑wide macros, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate activities of all programmers assigned to the same study, managing multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Communicate status, risks, and solutions to the trial programmer and supervisor.
• Contribute to the evolution of statistical programming standards and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, health sciences or a related field.
• At least 2 years of programming experience in the pharmaceutical or medical‑device industry.
• Advanced English proficiency.
• Strong analytical mindset with solid understanding of statistical concepts and regulatory requirements.

Required skills

• SAS programming, including macro development.
• Experience creating and reviewing programming dataset specifications.
• Ability to perform requirements analysis, resource estimation, and deliverable tracking.
