Tax Analyst – VAT Refunds

About the role

The Tax Analyst – VAT Refunds will support the VAT and Refunds function by preparing, validating, and maintaining high‑quality documentation required for VAT refund filings. The role ensures accuracy, timely execution, and full compliance with regulatory requirements while providing operational support across tax and foreign‑trade activities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and support VAT‑in‑favor calculations, including working papers and advance payment analysis.
• Collect, organize, and validate documentation for VAT refund filings (XML, invoices, accounting records, import/export documents, annexes).
• Perform reconciliations between accounting records, CFDI data, and foreign‑trade documentation.
• Validate completeness and accuracy of information from procurement, logistics, accounting, and trade‑compliance teams.
• Ensure VAT refund files comply with VAT Law, CFF, and RMF requirements and track deadlines.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation and support SAT audit requests.
• Identify discrepancies, propose process improvements, and document recurring issues.

Required profile

• Experience supporting VAT refund processes and tax accounting entries.
• Knowledge of Mexican VAT law, CFF, RMF, and SAT audit procedures.
• Ability to validate CFDI data, vendor status, and ensure documentation completeness.
• Strong attention to detail and capability to work with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• XML handling for filing submissions.
• CFDI (digital tax receipt) validation.
• SharePoint for document repository management.
• Reconciliation of accounting and foreign‑trade data.
