Tooling Engineer

About the role

You will join a multidisciplinary team that drives mechanical projects from concept to production. The role focuses on designing and improving tooling for plastic injection molding, ensuring products meet customer expectations, quality standards, and manufacturability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support qualification and approval of mechanical parts (plastic, rubber, metal) using the PPAP process.
• Lead part‑improvement initiatives through APQP, assess tool condition, and estimate repair time.
• Coordinate with suppliers to complete tool refurbishments and urgent repairs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet tooling milestones and resolve quality issues.
• Act as technical lead for tool development projects from DFM through PPAP.
• Maintain and enhance the tooling database and support tool‑management activities.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to engineering, sourcing, and marketing teams.
• Travel domestically and internationally up to 35% as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience as a Tooling Engineer in a plastic injection molding environment.
• Strong ownership of tooling design, build, validation, and launch.
• Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to continuous personal and technical growth.
