Trade & Transport Specialist (Import)

About the role

As a Trade & Transport Specialist (Import) you will oversee local import and export operations for ABB’s Electrification Business in Apodaca, Nuevo León. You will ensure that customs activities are executed smoothly, accurately and in compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for customs brokers, addressing clarification needs on product valuation and classification.
• Audit customs brokers to verify the correctness of customs entries, invoicing and archiving.
• Supervise the performance of customs brokers and ensure timely execution of trade and customs processes.
• Prepare and manage all required documentation and online forms for cost‑effective and lawful import/export activities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of import/export laws, tariffs, duties, licences and restrictions and share this information with colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Commerce, Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation or import operations.
• Hands‑on experience with the IMMEX program and customs regime changes.
• Intermediate English proficiency.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for logistics data analysis and reporting.
• Working knowledge of SAP (preferred).
