Upper School Humanities Teacher (2026-27)

About the role

The American School Foundation seeks a passionate Upper School Humanities Teacher for the 2026‑27 academic year. You will guide students through World History, U.S. History and Geography while fostering research, critical thinking and creative inquiry.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging, culturally‑competent lesson plans and assessments for Upper School students.
• Teach content areas such as World History, U.S. History and Geography.
• Develop students' research, questioning, and communication skills.
• Promote collaborative classroom practices and respect for diverse viewpoints.
• Contribute to a vibrant school community alongside colleagues, parents and administrators.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of current pedagogy and adolescent development.
• Enthusiasm for Humanities and a commitment to a positive learning environment.
• Ability to connect with Upper School students and inspire curiosity.
• Intellectual curiosity, optimism, flexibility and teamwork orientation.
• Experience working with culturally diverse students and families.
