Validation Engineer – Reliability & Environmental Testing

About the role

The Validation Engineer – Reliability & Environmental Testing is responsible for planning, executing, and analysing reliability tests for new and mass‑production products in a dedicated laboratory. The role ensures product robustness through environmental, mechanical and ongoing reliability testing while supporting failure analysis and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute reliability test plans and verification strategies for new products, including Reliability Demonstration Tests (RDT) and detailed reporting.
• Lead or assist in anomaly tracking, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions, and support product transfer and operator training on ORT test items.
• Plan and run Ongoing Reliability Test (ORT) programs, manage sample logistics, support night‑shift operations and generate final compliance statistics.
• Operate and maintain test equipment such as thermal shock chambers, temperature & humidity chambers, ageing chambers, vibration systems, drop‑test machines and insertion force testers.
• Investigate product failures, perform failure analysis, and work with cross‑functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Introduce new equipment, qualify it, coordinate calibrations and improve laboratory efficiency.
• Support customer visits, technical reviews, audits and handle customer‑specific reliability requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in reliability testing, quality engineering or laboratory engineering.
• Strong analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills in English.
• Experience in electronics, semiconductor or manufacturing environments is preferred.
