Accountant – US GAAP (Hospitality Focus)

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a sharp, reliable accountant to manage day‑to‑day accounting for a portfolio of hospitality clients operating under US GAAP. This client‑facing position offers full ownership of the accounting cycle, allowing you to work independently while supporting hotels, restaurants, and related businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Own full‑cycle accounting for multiple hospitality clients, including general ledger management, month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Coordinate directly with clients to gather information, clarify transactions, and communicate results.
• Identify discrepancies, process gaps, or improvement opportunities and act proactively.
• Adapt quickly to evolving client needs across diverse hospitality operations.

Required profile

• 3+ years of accounting experience with full‑cycle close ownership.
• Solid working knowledge of US GAAP applied consistently.
• Experience serving US‑based or US‑facing clients.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts or projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Self‑directed, organized, and able to work without micromanagement.
• Proven performance in fast‑paced, high‑volume environments.
