Accounting Manager – Global Accounting Team

About the role

Uber is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a team of Senior Accountants within its Global Accounting organization. You will own the month‑end close, internal controls, and automation initiatives, bridging digital finance systems with real‑world business impact.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packages.
• Resolve complex accounting issues and provide technical guidance to cross‑functional partners.
• Lead process‑improvement and automation projects in partnership with FinTech teams.
• Maintain SOX controls and ensure audit‑ready global accounting processes.
• Coach and develop Senior Accountants, setting performance standards and delivering feedback.
• Collaborate with Tax, Payroll, and Financial Risk Management to align financial results across entities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• 6+ years of operational accounting experience in a public accounting firm or multinational corporation.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, public company audit requirements, and financial statement analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (V‑Lookups, Pivot Tables, etc.).
• CPA certification preferred.
• Experience working in a SOX‑controlled environment.
• Prior people‑management experience in a complex, high‑volume setting.
