Accounting Manager

About the role

Coface is looking for an Accounting Manager to lead its Mexico accounting function. The role ensures the integrity, compliance and quality of financial information under IFRS, Mexican regulatory (CNSF) and tax frameworks, while acting as a strategic business partner.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close processes, ensuring IFRS and CNSF compliance.
• Validate insurance accounting criteria (premiums, reserves, claims) and oversee critical reconciliations.
• Prepare and validate Group (IFRS) and regulatory (CNSF) reporting, including GAAP‑IFRS bridge explanations.
• Coordinate external, internal and tax audits, managing technical responses and documentation.
• Design and oversee SOX/1LC controls, maintain proper documentation and assess accounting risks.
• Supervise tax calculations and filings, liaising with internal or external tax teams.
• Oversee treasury and investment operations, co‑define investment strategy and ALM with the CFO.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, defining KPIs and service level agreements.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading an accounting function in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Mexican regulatory requirements (CNSF).
• Experience designing and maintaining SOX/1LC internal controls.
• Ability to manage audits, tax compliance and treasury/investment activities.
