Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer – Transmission Solenoids

About the role

Bosch is seeking an Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development and industrialisation of transmission solenoids for automatic, CVT and DCT gearboxes. The role is based on‑site in San Luis Potosí and works closely with the global engineering team in Guadalajara.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical components of transmission solenoids, including housings, armatures, springs, valves and interfaces.
• Convert customer and system requirements into CAD models, detailed drawings, specifications and BOMs.
• Own the full product lifecycle from concept, validation and release through series production support.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles, create tolerance analyses and maintain documentation in the PLM system.
• Participate in DFMEA, DRBFM, DVP&R, design reviews and validation testing.
• Support ramp‑up, series production, and resolve design, manufacturing or field issues using structured problem‑solving.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers to drive cost, quality and standardisation improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of mechanical design or product development experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
• Strong analytical skills and fluency in English communication.
• Experience with automotive electromechanical components such as transmission solenoids or valves is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools – NX (preferred) and Teamcenter.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, tolerancing, materials and DFM/DFA.
• Hands‑on experience with DFMEA, DRBFM and DVP&R.
• FEA or other mechanical simulation capabilities.
