AI Engineer I – Remote

About the role

Sezzle is looking for a motivated AI Engineer I to join its Applied AI team. This remote position offers the chance to work on production‑grade AI systems that power customer‑facing products, internal tools, and operational workflows. You will collaborate with senior engineers and cross‑functional partners to turn business problems into intelligent, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop AI‑powered platforms and features alongside senior engineers.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of complex projects, from discovery through production rollout.
• Build intelligent automation, agentic systems, and full‑stack components (backend services, APIs, data layers, and frontend interfaces).
• Embed AI capabilities into existing workflows, products, and processes.
• Translate business and operational challenges into maintainable AI‑enabled technical solutions.

Required profile

• Early‑career AI professional with a strong analytical mindset.
• High IQ and high EQ, able to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
• Motivated to learn, take ownership, and grow into technical leadership.

Required skills

• Full‑stack development (backend services, APIs, data layers, frontend interfaces).
• Experience building AI‑driven features and intelligent automation.
• Ability to design, implement, and iterate production‑grade AI systems.
