AI Native Software Engineer – Python Backend

About the role

Palo IT is looking for a senior backend engineer to design, build and evolve AI‑native services. You will work on scalable Python applications, collaborate with cross‑functional teams and help shape the technical direction of AI‑first products.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high‑performance backend services and RESTful APIs using Python FastAPI.
• Lead architecture decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability and security of micro‑service ecosystems.
• Collaborate with frontend, product and data teams to integrate server‑side logic with user‑facing features.
• Optimize code for speed, reliability and cost‑efficiency while applying best practices for security and data protection.
• Mentor junior developers, enforce engineering standards and conduct code reviews.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to production support.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional backend development experience, primarily with Python.
• Strong expertise in FastAPI, RESTful API design, micro‑services and distributed systems.
• Proven ability to design scalable, maintainable systems in production environments.
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, performance tuning and data modeling.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and modern DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and experience guiding technical discussions.
