Airport Engineer - México

About the role

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a motivated Airport Engineer to join its aviation portfolio in Mexico. You will support the design and construction of civil infrastructure, buildings, and specialized aviation facilities, ensuring high‑quality, client‑focused outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams during design, coordination, and construction phases of airport civil works.
• Prepare and coordinate comprehensive landside and airside design packages.
• Provide engineering input for airport master planning, feasibility studies, and conceptual layouts.
• Perform and review calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports to meet safety standards and aviation regulations (FAA or local).
• Identify design discrepancies, site constraints, and construction challenges, proposing creative solutions.
• Act as technical liaison between design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure project objectives.
• Monitor on‑site construction, conduct quality‑assurance inspections, and resolve RFIs and submittals.
• Support project management with technical progress insights to keep schedules and budgets on track.

Required profile

• Solid professional experience in design and construction of civil infrastructure or buildings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Motivation, adaptability, and resourcefulness to solve complex engineering challenges.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of civil and structural design principles, construction methods, and building codes.
• Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, or other structural modeling tools.
