Android Engineer – SDK Development for Telecom Platform

About the role

We are looking for an Android Engineer to build and evolve the Octo Device Agent SDK, a core component of our CXaaS platform that runs inside operator‑branded Android apps. You will work on real‑world devices and networks, delivering telemetry, diagnostics and remote remediation features.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain the Android SDK, including telephony APIs, connectivity diagnostics, IMS/VoLTE/VoWiFi state, APN configuration and signal telemetry.
• Create proof‑of‑concept Android applications that showcase the SDK to enterprise prospects and pilot customers.
• Collaborate with backend teams to define contracts, log structures and event schemas for new measurement and remediation features.
• Investigate and resolve carrier‑ and device‑specific edge cases such as multi‑SIM behavior, manufacturer quirks and OS restrictions.
• Contribute to the UX redesign of the SDK companion experience and improve testing, release engineering and operational maturity.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Strong command of Android system APIs (telephony, connectivity, permissions, services, lifecycle).
• Experience designing, integrating or shipping SDKs in production environments.
• Ability to read and write technical documentation in English.
• Fluent English; Spanish is a plus for client interactions.
