Application Engineer – Driver Airbag & Steering Wheel Systems

About the role

Autoliv is seeking an Application Engineer to develop and validate driver airbag and steering wheel systems at our Queretaro Technical Center. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, OEMs, and suppliers to bring safe, high‑quality products to market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate driver airbag and steering wheel designs.
• Lead and support project activities throughout all technical phases.
• Collaborate with global and divisional teams, OEMs, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers.
• Negotiate styling versus Autoliv standard design/processes with customers.
• Validate and launch global programs locally.
• Balance manufacturability with customer requirements.
• Interpret customer specifications and ensure designs meet them.
• Drive designs to meet 1P1P expectations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in steering wheel, driver airbag, or automotive interior Class A component design.
• Background in product design and CAE.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
