Assistant Mooring Master

About the role

The Assistant Mooring Master supports the Mooring Master in safely executing mooring, berthing, offloading and other marine operations. The role ensures compliance with company procedures and maritime regulations while coordinating with vessel crews and offshore/onshore teams.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Mooring Master in all mooring, berthing, offloading and custody transfer activities.
• Maintain and prepare floating hose and tandem mooring systems for operations.
• Support emergency preparedness and response procedures.
• Coordinate with vessel masters, cargo departments, surveyors and offshore/onshore personnel.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of administrative and reporting requirements.
• Deputize for the Mooring Master when required, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years sea service on Aframax to VLCC tankers, including at least 1 year as Chief Officer, OR 3 years FPSO experience with at least 1 year as Cargo Supervisor/Superintendent.
• Proven experience in tanker berthing, mooring, cargo transfer and offshore marine operations.
• Experience coordinating with vessel crews, surveyors and terminal personnel.
• Familiarity with offshore safety management systems and emergency response procedures.
• Preferred experience with FPSO/FSO operations, tandem berthing/offloading, floating hose systems and tandem mooring equipment.
• Attendance at Tandem Offloading Simulator Training and Management of Major Emergency Training is an advantage.
