Associate Director of Collections

About the role

The Associate Director of Collections leads the portfolio recovery function, ensuring compliance with policies while driving recovery performance. Working closely with the Director of Collections & Portfolio Administration, this role defines strategies, monitors risk, and implements corrective actions to maximize collections.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and evaluate collection and portfolio recovery processes, ensuring policy compliance.
• Recommend and implement improvements to collection structures, systems, and recovery procedures.
• Develop, monitor, and report departmental KPIs and market variables.
• Analyze exceptional cases and propose solutions outside standard policies.
• Communicate collection policies and standards across the team.
• Ensure the collections team has necessary infrastructure and resources.
• Approve settlements, discounts, write‑offs, and special negotiations within authority limits.
• Identify operational improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in collections and portfolio recovery.
• At least 2 years in a managerial leadership role within collections.
• Proven ability to develop recovery strategies, manage teams and support business growth.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and change management capabilities.
