Associate General Counsel

About the role

As the Associate General Counsel for Bitso’s Mexico operations, you will be the primary legal partner guiding the company through a highly regulated financial services environment. You will work closely with product, compliance and business teams to ensure that new offerings and commercial initiatives are launched in line with Mexican law.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the legal strategy for Bitso’s Mexico business, covering product launches, commercial contracts and regulatory engagements.
• Advise senior leadership on the legal and regulatory implications of product design, operational changes, partnerships and customer‑facing flows.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, customer terms and disclosures.
• Manage interactions with Mexican authorities such as CNBV, Banco de México and CONDUSEF, including inquiries, examinations and supervisory processes.
• Monitor and interpret changes in Mexican financial, consumer protection, data privacy and corporate governance regulations.

Required profile

• Law degree and active license to practice law in Mexico.
• 8+ years of legal experience, primarily in financial services, fintech, payments, banking or securities.
• Deep knowledge of Mexican financial regulatory bodies (CNBV, Banco de México, CONDUSEF) and related frameworks.
• Proven ability to assess legal risk in fast‑moving environments and provide commercially sound advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Spanish and English.
