Associate Manager – Current Product Development

About the role

The Associate Manager – Current Product Development leads a team of engineers focused on sustaining and optimizing faucet products at the Mexico Technical Center. This hybrid position combines hands‑on technical work with cross‑functional leadership to ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technical associates in current product development and sustaining engineering.
• Manage engineering execution for design updates, material changes, cost‑reduction initiatives (VA/VE), obsolescence management, and documentation.
• Coordinate multiple workstreams to meet quality, cost, timing, and regulatory objectives.
• Apply robust engineering practices such as DFMEA, risk assessments, validation planning, and structured problem‑solving.
• Serve as the primary engineering interface between the Technical Center, regional operations, and global Centers of Excellence.
• Support issue resolution with suppliers and manufacturing through data analysis and root‑cause investigations.
• Analyze warranty, quality, and performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Communicate status, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead small engineering teams or workstreams, either directly or in a matrix environment.
• Strong coaching and collaboration skills with a desire to grow as a people leader.
• Ability to influence cross‑functional partners without direct authority.

Required skills

• Mechanical product development and sustaining engineering experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, preferably Creo.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, and validation/testing principles.
• Data‑driven problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis.
