Associate Staff Engineer - Data Engineer

About the role

Nagarro, a digital product engineering company with more than 15,000 experts across 26 countries, is hiring an Associate Staff Engineer - Data Engineer in Guadalajara. The role owns the data warehouse layer that powers analytics and reporting across the organization, building scalable data models and ELT/ETL pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build data models in Snowflake using dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schemas), OBT and Data Vault patterns
• Develop and maintain dbt projects, covering staging, intermediate and mart layers, with version control, CI/CD, data contracts and schema, data and freshness tests
• Monitor and optimize Snowflake compute and storage costs through warehouse sizing, auto-suspend tuning, query profiling, clustering keys, materialization choices and resource monitors
• Build ELT/ETL pipelines that ingest data from ERP, MES, IoT, APIs and flat files into Snowflake, AWS Glue and Lambda, using orchestration tools and Python
• Implement data quality checks, lineage tracking and documentation, and champion data governance practices

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering or a related role
• Hands-on Snowflake and dbt experience in a production environment
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS or GCP) including storage, compute, networking and basic infrastructure-as-code

Required skills

• Expert Snowflake: data modeling, performance tuning, Snowpark, stored procedures, streams/tasks, data sharing and cost management
• Strong dbt: Jinja/macros, packages, incremental models, snapshots, exposures and CI/CD integration
• Advanced SQL, including window functions and CTEs
• Python for pipelines, automation and API integrations
• Dashboard/BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau, including DAX/LOD calculations
