Back End Engineer (Trading Systems)

About the role

GBM is modernising its trading platforms to deliver resilient, high‑performance services for capital‑markets operations. As a Back End Engineer you will shape the technical direction, lead large‑scale modernization initiatives and build scalable, reliable backend capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Define system architecture and long‑term technical direction for strategic initiatives.
• Lead major modernization efforts and architectural improvements.
• Design highly scalable, resilient, and high‑performance systems.
• Coordinate technical efforts across multiple teams or services.
• Ensure stability and evolution of critical business systems.
• Mentor engineers and influence roadmap decisions through technical expertise.

Required profile

• 3‑5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proven ownership of critical production systems.
• Experience leading large‑scale initiatives or system redesigns.
• Track record of improving performance, reliability and scalability.
• Fintech, trading or capital‑markets domain knowledge is a plus.
