Business Development Manager – Engineering Plastics

About the role
The Business Development Manager for Engineering Plastics will be responsible for managing key OEM relationships, expanding tier‑1 customer networks, and driving new business opportunities in the plastics market. This role works closely with internal engineering and sales teams to commercialise new materials and increase revenue for assigned accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of OEM relationships, including contracts, quotations, rebates, price changes, colour specifications and resin specifications.
- Develop tier‑1 customer relationships, penetrate new accounts and generate new business through direct contact and coordination with internal support.
- Travel to visit and entertain customers as approved by the Head of Sales & Marketing.
- Provide timely reports on OEM issues, sales calls, program status, sample status and development timelines.
- Maintain the NAV project manager system and Caesar CRM with up‑to‑date project and customer information.
- Assist in negotiation, risk assessment and evaluation of customer contracts.
- Support the evaluation, development and commercialisation of new materials demanded by target customers.
- Identify ancillary service providers to assist in product development.
- Contribute to the preparation and implementation of annual and multi‑year marketing plans.
- Guide pricing policies, profit margins and programme priorities to maximise sales revenue.
- Control costs, submit expense reports promptly and support corporate website improvements.
- Provide strategic leadership and support to the Sales & Marketing department as directed.
Required profile
- College degree in business or engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in sales or sales management, preferably within the plastics or engineering materials sector.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience using CRM and project management tools such as NAV and Caesar.
