Buyer – Purchasing & Inventory Management

About the role

As a Buyer, you will manage the end‑to‑end purchasing process, ensuring timely acquisition of goods while optimizing inventory levels and working capital. You will collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to keep the supply chain running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily purchasing reports and system recommendations to determine appropriate quantities and items to order.
• Create and issue purchase orders, ensuring accurate quantities, costs, terms, and compliance.
• Maintain inventory availability, execute stock replenishment, special orders and drop‑ship purchases.
• Track order status, resolve shipping errors, and communicate delivery information to affected departments.
• Process supplier shipping error notices and take corrective actions.
• Analyze quarterly excess and inactive inventory reports and negotiate return authorizations.
• Support managers in evaluating supplier performance on delivery, fill rates, and cost improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or a related field.
• At least 1 year of purchasing experience in a supply‑chain environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently.

Required skills

• Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) proficiency.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and purchasing software.
