Chief Accountant

About the role

SKF is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its regional accounting function. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on execution, ensuring reliable financial information and driving process improvements across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the regional accounting team and oversee the full accounting cycle.
• Supervise, develop and motivate staff, set priorities and delegate tasks.
• Review and validate journal entries, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes within corporate deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with NIF, IFRS, internal policies and SKF global guidelines.
• Prepare and analyse financial reports, explain variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors and Shared Services teams.
• Optimize accounting processes, strengthen internal controls and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a General Accountant.
• Experience in Shared Services environments is a plus.
• Strong supervisory and talent development abilities.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.

Required skills

• Intermediate/advanced SAP proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Solid knowledge of accounting and tax regulations (NIF, ISR, IVA, DIOT, IFRS).
• Understanding of internal control frameworks and SOX compliance (preferred).
