Controls Engineer

About the role

The Controls Engineer works closely with production, development and research teams to solve complex technical challenges. The role supports continuous improvement, new product introductions and cost‑reduction initiatives while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day problem‑solving support for production, development and research operations.
• Train operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.
• Build detailed technical understanding of key process steps using rigorous methods.
• Lead or contribute to focused project teams, troubleshooting material, process and equipment issues.
• Identify root causes, implement corrective actions and document changes.
• Apply statistical tools and Design of Experiments (DOE) for process improvement.
• Ensure quality, repeatability and safety of processes and products.
• Support new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation and training.
• Execute DMAIC cost‑reduction and improvement projects aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Yellow Belt training in Lean Six Sigma.
• Proven track record of delivering results in a technical field.
• Experience working on project teams.
• Desired: Summer internship or progressive engineering experience, Green Belt certification, project team leadership, shift supervisory experience.
