CPE Product Engineer

About the role

Aptiv is seeking a CPE Product Engineer to provide on‑site technical support at a manufacturing facility and to maintain product designs throughout the production phase. You will work closely with global design centers and help ensure automotive electronics meet safety, quality, and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site technical support for current production products and upcoming development phases.
• Coordinate with Global Product Design Centers and manage product or component changes during production, updating BOMs, drawings and documentation.
• Lead product analysis for customer rejects (0 km, WAR) and Level 2 complex failure investigations.
• Support manufacturing processes for assembling electronic boards and modules.
• Define and operate diagnostic equipment, assembly/disassembly tools, and mechanical measurement devices.
• Develop repair processes for product components when required.
• Perform initial risk assessments for supplier changes impacting the site.
• Participate in MRVA processes as technical support and product owner.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in product engineering roles.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics and component datasheets.
• Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Team‑oriented mindset and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Required skills

• Automotive communication protocols: CAN, Ethernet, LIN, XCP.
• CAD software for mechanical/electrical design.
• Minitab for statistical analysis.
• Use of measuring tools and equipment for electronic components.
