Customer Support Specialist (Billing & Payments)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Customer Support Specialist focused on billing and payments to join its finance team in Mexico City. The role combines accounts‑receivable management with direct customer interaction, ensuring timely payment processing and accurate financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile accounts receivable, guaranteeing accuracy and timely posting of incoming payments.
• Monitor outstanding balances, conduct corporate collections, and follow up directly with customers as needed.
• Execute and document account reconciliation processes to maintain data integrity with financial records.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payment issues and support cross‑functional objectives.
• Support financial audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to accounts receivable.
• Utilize SAP to process AR transactions, generate reports, and leverage system functionalities efficiently.
• Identify and implement improvements in AR processes while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably with corporate collections and reconciliation exposure.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Proficiency in English (written and oral) and a proactive, goal‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• SAP (or similar ERP system) experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
