Data Engineer – Manufacturing & AI Solutions

About the role

Join Corning’s Optical Communications team as a Data Engineer and help turn complex manufacturing and operational data into reliable, scalable data products. You will enable faster decisions, greater production visibility, and support AI/ML initiatives across the company.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver manufacturing, operational, and business data.
• Create clean, production‑ready datasets for reporting, analytics, manufacturing visibility, and AI/ML applications.
• Implement automated data‑quality checks, validation rules, monitoring, and troubleshooting processes.
• Support cloud data‑platform operations, pipeline performance, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams, analysts, data scientists, and technology partners to understand data needs and deliver scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in data engineering, data integration, ETL/ELT development, or a related role.
• Minimum 2 years of Python programming experience with clean, maintainable code.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, data modeling, and transformations.
