Data Engineer – Remote (Sports Analytics)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join a fast‑growing, data‑driven team at the intersection of sports, analytics, and technology. This remote position will focus on building modern data platforms that power AI and machine‑learning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Databricks, Airflow, or Dagster.
• Create robust ETL/ELT workflows with Python and SQL.
• Collaborate with ML and AI teams to deliver high‑quality, production‑ready datasets.
• Work with lakehouse technologies such as Delta Lake, Parquet, and Iceberg.
• Implement orchestration, monitoring, and data‑quality frameworks.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and cost across data platforms.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of professional data‑engineering experience.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Spark, or comparable big‑data technologies.
• Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, or Luigi).
• Deep understanding of data modeling and distributed systems.
• Experience partnering with analytics, product, or machine‑learning teams.
