Data QA Engineer – Enterprise Data

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Data QA Engineer to ensure the integrity, accuracy and reliability of our enterprise data ecosystems. You will validate complex ETL pipelines, oversee data migrations and confirm that transformed data aligns with business logic before it reaches analytical layers.

Key responsibilities

• Validate ETL processes, referential integrity, constraints and data normalization across pipelines.
• Perform functional testing on database objects such as stored procedures, triggers, views and functions.
• Write and execute complex SQL queries to verify data correctness and system integrity.
• Test data pipelines, transformations and business logic within Tableau and Power BI reporting tools.
• Build and maintain automated test scripts for database regression and integration testing.
• Identify slow‑running queries, review execution plans and collaborate with DBAs to optimise indexing and performance.
• Track defects using JIRA or TestRail and promote data‑quality best practices across teams.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record in data quality assurance.
• Hands‑on experience validating ETL/ELT pipelines and data warehouses.
• Ability to work closely with developers, data analysts and product teams.

Required skills

• Advanced SQL query writing and troubleshooting.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline testing.
• Familiarity with Tableau and Power BI.
• Use of defect‑tracking tools such as JIRA or TestRail.
• Knowledge of database objects (stored procedures, triggers, views, functions) and performance tuning.
