Design Engineer II – 1st Shift – On‑site Aerospace

About the role

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Design Engineer II to join its on‑site aerospace structures team in Mexicali. You will develop engineering solutions that meet safety, ergonomics, quality and productivity standards for aircraft components.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver design solutions following design manuals and best practices for aerospace parts.
• Apply material knowledge to ensure compliance with safety, performance and reliability requirements.
• Support manufacturing processes and ensure designs align with engineering specifications.
• Lead and participate in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) activities to resolve quality issues.
• Propose corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and process efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet design delivery timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Aerospace Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in product design and development.
• Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).

Required skills

• Proficiency in CATIA V5 for 3D structural modeling.
• Knowledge of GD&T for precise dimensioning and tolerance.
• Experience with PLM systems such as Enovia or Teamcenter.
• Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
