Desktop Support Specialist

About the role

HCLTech is seeking a Desktop Support Specialist to provide on‑site technical assistance for macOS and Windows environments. You will work closely with end users to resolve hardware, software and network issues, ensuring smooth operation of daily IT services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for macOS‑based hardware and software, including troubleshooting and system maintenance.
• Install, configure, upgrade macOS, Windows, applications and drivers; deploy devices using MDM tools such as JAMF.
• Respond to support requests via phone, email or in‑person and document all actions in the ticketing system.
• Set up and deploy new desktops, laptops, mobile devices and peripherals.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of hardware and software assets.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
• Create and update user guides, FAQs and knowledge‑base articles.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Desktop Support Specialist or in a similar technical support role.
• Strong knowledge of both Windows and macOS operating systems.
• Familiarity with remote desktop tools and help‑desk software.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
