Direct Buyer – Procurement

About the role

As a Direct Buyer for Dana Mexico in Queretaro, you will lead the sourcing and procurement activities for a designated commodity category, focusing on steel, aluminum and forging materials. You will be responsible for identifying cost‑saving opportunities, managing contracts and ensuring a reliable supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute annual business plans to achieve cost reductions and performance improvements.
• Conduct RFIs/RFQs, evaluate quotes and recommend global sourcing solutions based on total landed cost analysis.
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits and address issues promptly.
• Track savings projects and report forecasts and actuals in the Savings Tracker.
• Collaborate with internal departments to reduce inventory requirements.

Required profile

• 4‑year degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of direct procurement experience, preferably with steel, aluminum or forging materials.
• Professional supply‑chain certification preferred.
• Fluent English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
