Elementary Tech Teacher

About the role

The Elementary Tech Teacher introduces students to foundational technology concepts, digital literacy, and responsible technology use. The role supports the development of 21st‑century skills and prepares learners for high school, higher education, and an increasingly digital world. It aligns with ISP’s commitment to student wellbeing, safety, and inclusive learning.

Key responsibilities

• Teach digital literacy, including safe and effective use of computers, software, and the internet.
• Deliver foundational technology skills such as typing, coding, multimedia production, robotics, and basic computer science.
• Design and lead technology projects that develop logical thinking, data analysis, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Guide students on responsible digital citizenship, covering online safety, cyberbullying prevention, and ethical technology use.
• Collaborate with other teachers to integrate technology across the curriculum, enhancing engagement and interactivity.
• Prepare students for future tech courses, STEM pathways, and technology‑related careers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of elementary‑level teaching experience, preferably with educational technology integration.
• Experience designing lessons using educational technology tools and working with diverse learners, including special‑education and English language learners.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hardware and software such as Chromebooks, tablets, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with programming languages and platforms: Scratch, Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript.
• Experience with robotics kits like LEGO EV3 and VEX.
