Engine Design & Release Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Design Release Engineer (DRE) specialized in powertrain systems to manage the full lifecycle of critical engine components from concept to production. The DRE will act as the technical authority for assigned parts, ensuring design integrity, supplier coordination, and successful launch.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain component Bill of Materials (BOM) and drive Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) using PLM tools.
• Collaborate with CAD designers to optimize packaging, clearances, and conduct Digital Mock‑Up (DMU) reviews.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with Tier 1 suppliers, overseeing APQP and PPAP milestones and tooling progress.
• Define and review Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R), analyze test and simulation data, and lead root‑cause investigations (8D, Fishbone).
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, and Plant Engineering to ensure smooth prototype builds and production launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Aerospace Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer in the automotive sector, focusing on powertrain or engine components.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional projects and supplier relationships.
