Engineer I & II – Process & Manufacturing

About the role

Join Corning’s manufacturing team as an Engineer I or II, working alongside colleagues to solve complex technical challenges, support continuous improvement, and drive new product and process introductions. You will contribute to cost‑reduction initiatives while ensuring high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day problem‑solving support to production, development, and research operations.
• Train operators and trades personnel on new equipment and processes.
• Build detailed technical understanding of key process steps using rigorous methods.
• Lead or participate in focused projects, troubleshooting material, process, and equipment issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
• Implement and document material, process, or equipment changes.
• Apply statistical tools and Design of Experiments (DOE) for problem solving and process improvement.
• Assure quality, repeatability, and safety of processes and products.
• Support new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and training.
• Execute cost‑reduction and DMAIC projects aligned with business objectives.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
• Yellow Belt training in Lean Six Sigma.
• Proven track record of delivering results in a technical field.
• Experience working on project teams.
