Engineer II

About the role

Merit Medical is seeking an Engineer II to support the design, development and improvement of innovative medical devices. The role involves applying engineering techniques, investigating technical variables, and contributing to prototype creation under broad direction.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply standard technical methods to solve defined engineering problems.
• Investigate moderate technical variables and perform analyses to meet clear objectives.
• Work independently on standard projects while receiving assistance on unusual challenges.
• Supervise or assist engineers and technicians on specific assignments.
• Write Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and develop prototypes for special projects.
• Ensure designs comply with United States and international standards applicable to the department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least three years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills for teamwork.

Required skills

• Proficiency with spreadsheets.
• Experience using word‑processing software.
• Familiarity with database applications.
